Uncertainty
2021
The piece reflects on home as a vessel for heritage and lived experience: what is built, inherited and carried within a place, and what comes undone there. Caught between construction and unravelling, and stopped mid-stitch, the work holds that tension still. I embroidered it in 2021, during a period of enforced stillness that gave me space to reflect. Its questions about belonging, inheritance and what a home holds have only deepened in the years since. It's different from the work I've made in recent years, but thematically it belongs to the same ongoing exploration of genetics, evolution, inheritance, mental health, and material research.
