Phenotypica Art & Science Cinema | ELRIG Drug Discovery (2025)

Project Overview

I was commissioned to create an Art and Science installation for my initiative Phenotypica Art & Science for ELRIG Drug Discovery 2025 in Liverpool. I proposed Phenotypica Art & Science Cinema, an installation featuring a selection of video artworks about science, commissioned and created for other scientific institutions. The videos would be playing in a loop throughout the duration of the conference, and members of the public could stop and sit on the bean bags.

The selection included the following works:

- Share Your Rare a Wellcome Trust funded project in collaboration with Cardiff University

- The Chaos of Raw Unknowing commissioned by Ali Hossaini, National Gallery X and UKRI TAS

- Stem Cell Pachinko animation is the result from the partnership between Phenotypica Art & Science and WORC.Community for Word+ 2025

- Confined Mutations

- Ophelia Sequenced (Metagenomics in Art) developed during the collaboration with the Tate Exchange at Tate Modern.

- Four video artworks from Neus’ year-long art residency at the Reuter Laboratory at UCL

- Agonism/Antagonism: Coupling

- Agonism/Antagonism: Decoupling

- Bioplastic/Fruitfly Cocoon

- Compression, Tension, Transformation
