Phenotypica Design Studio Booth Design
Project Overview
Phenotypica partnered with WORD+ 2025 (Wellcome Genome Campus, Cambridge), ELRIG Drug Discovery 2025 (Liverpool), and WORD+ 2026 (Wellcome Genome Campus, Cambridge).
With the studio's work spanning two distinct areas: design consulting and public engagement at the intersection of art, science and technology, the booth was designed to represent both sides of the business through two roller banners, three exhibited artworks and showreel.
Exhibition
Incubator for Twin Lifeforms, first developed as part of a Master's project and a precursor to a subsequent art residency, was born from a visit to Dr Reuter's laboratory at University College London. Inspired by the metamorphosis of the fruit fly, the installation comprises an acrylic sculpture and a bioplastic counterpart, with a pulsing light beneath emulating the warmth of an incubator, echoing the moment a fly emerges from its cocoon, lab aesthetics, and equipment.
Stem Cell Pachinko, created in partnership with WORC.Community, brings scientific concepts into dialogue with visual and interactive art, combining video and 3D illustration rendered in Unreal Engine and Blender, alongside an acrylic sculpture.
Software used: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefly, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
